The show is usually begins at 19:30 in the evening with the performers (Whirling Dervishes) stars performing the Sema Ceremony Dance with the Music.
Mevlevi Sema Ceremony of Whirling Dervishes, Sema or Sama is originally invented by the Rumi (Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi 1207-1273 , a great thinker , Sufi Muslim and the creator of the Mevlevis) means "acceptance" literally.
The Sema represents a journey of man's soul and spirit to the god (Allah) mystically through mind and love.
Sema ceremony are performed in many places now a days by the whirling dervishes trained in the schools (Mevlevihane) by the scholars. The most famous one is Galata Mevlevihanesi in Istanbul.
Mevlevi Sema Ceremonyis one of the most popular activity and the dances are performed almost on every night in culture center , restaurants , museums and particular places.
Tickets must be reserved in advance, as there is a huge demand for this dance nowadays.
